My guess is it’s a reference to unions.

They all look like I’d get my pants pocket caught in them (I’m blessed with a special combination of hips and height. My taller boyfriend doesn’t have this problem.)
My preferred door handles are the upsy/downsy ones. You can still open them with a flexible leg, but they don’t grasp for my pockets.

Your one skill as a child is being “the easy one”, meaning you don’t ask for anything, unlike your more needy younger sibling. So you just keep not asking for things and your needs go unmet. And anytime a child needs to show flexibility, it’s you because you’re the older one. No, you don’t get to blow out the candles on your birthday cake alone because your brother wants to, it’d be nice if you let him help because you’re the older one. By the time you’re 10 you realize you’ll always be the older one. It sucks.

I do that, too, when I’m in a shared chair. I think it’s because my feet don’t reach the floor in chairs that aren’t adjusted for my height. Also, I’m autistic, hyper flexible, and have poor proprioception, so sitting on my legs gives me good feedback on where my limbs are.
My office chair is a kneeling chair, and I tend to sit with my feet where the knees should go. (I swap into office slippers, so it’s not outside shoes on my chair.)

The last time I went car shopping, it was as the ride for my carless roommate (we were dating, but he introduced me to the car rep as his ride and roommate). He ended up talking to a manager about a car and the manager kept bad-mouthing my car, talking about how unsafe it was, etc. I just kept knitting next to him because the whole situation was not my problem, but I was confused until my roommate said pointedly “you’re not going to get my roommate’s car as a trade-in”. I got up to help myself to their snacks and coffee.
He did not get a car from that dealership.

My local ace is friendly. They have a store dog, too. It’s great.

My aunt was pissed when she found a hospital satisfaction survey addressed to her mother, a few weeks after her mom died at that hospital.

Yep. Usually an AI overview will just piss me off, but sometimes I do want it. In those cases, I add a question mark to the end of my query. It’s easy.
(example: “could you find me 3 different premium pull-down attic ladders and summarize what makes them nice?” because I don’t want to wade through marketing until I have to. Also, y’all, feel free to brag about your attic ladder. Mine is aluminum, feels like it’s going to attack me when I pull it down, and has inadequate hand/guard rail for something next to an open stairway. The scissor-style ones look nice.)
I don’t have a problem with socks. I just don’t wear the bastards.
Same with tags on clothing, or escalators (I have a phobia). Very stationary objects in the macro sense, escalators. Easy to avoid and generally near stairs or elevators.
