• Nothig is wrong with a textfile if it works for you. The todo-list apps and time tracking apps just offer easily accessable features like projects, tags, subtasks, maybe some sync festures and import features from some calender or something. So you don’t have to build a system to organize your stuff yourself.

• I stuck with superproductivity. It supperts boards (you can configure your own board, but kanban and eisenhower are build in i think (i dont use that feature) i like how they handle projects and task storage. They have a philosophy of not adding task from a project to the daily clutter, you chose yourself. If helps to not feel overwhelmed and it can store tasks.

  Its not that good for lists of things imo, its better for for timetracking. But you can create a task and easily do subtasks and use it as a list. Also I think it is installable via docker but I don’t know, I havent used docker, but a search gave some results.

• I dislike swap solely because it gets used and when I accidentally open the same file twice then I regularly encounter problems with swap files when opening the file again later.

• I use nvim/ vim just because i was new and didn’t know anything I could edit on an ssh connection with beside vim. And it isn’t that hard, using lazyvim atm (still new and dont have time to configure myself) and if I can just use the mouse if I am too stupid, not that hard. But it get more and more convenient as time goes on. You encounter enough times and just think to yourself “is there a better way?” and most of the time there is! Just start with “i”, “<Esc>” and “:wq”.

• Not really a mobile gamer and i either solve riddles on websites or puzzles like sudoku. And I only use open source. I think mindustry and unciv are too complex for a phone game, I like feudal tactics, but it gets stale after some time
