Yeah that game was great a lot of people slept on, there’s another adventure game coming out soon “slime in the ice machine” that looks like it might be good too and I think Josh Sawyer is working on a fallout game hopefully they get the time to make it what they want.

It is a very old strategy for monopolies to buy up competition when there are no anti monopoly protections so they can kill the competition, it’s how Microsoft was founded.

on What makes a tower-defense loss useful rather than frustrating? in c/games@lemmy.world · 4d ago
I think there’s 2 good failure states, one is you learn something from why you failed so you want to try again to update your strategy and see if it works. The other is you carry over advancements or abilities from previous attempts so even if you try to brute force it it eventually works. Or I think most games have some mix of the two. For the first style having a recap at the end that shows a summary of how you did and also what you did so you can see if it improves with different actions seems less frustrating, like a damage parser you can only see at the end when you lose or win, or just a count of abilities used or structures built or whatever.

on Do analog triggers matter all that much? (In general and aside from racing games) in c/games@lemmy.world · 7 Sep 2026
I prefer controllers that let you lock the triggers for very short pulls so they act like buttons, buttons would be fine too for most games, big exceptions are probably racing already mentioned, space flight/flying combat, and many fighting games

Individuals get fired when they fuck up, companies layoff workers when they fuck up. Large scale layoffs are the outcome of poor planning and organization. You can’t predict markets completely, suppliers charge, etc which accounts for small # layoffs, but large, mass layoffs should be accompanied by replacing executives and leadership roles like board members first to prevent such poor management.

I think it was Kodak they stole from, dos they bought
