I haven’t beat the story because a well-known bug with a door not opening near the end of a mission fucked me and my co-op friend, and we didn’t want to do the last 30 minutes all over again.
There are a lot of bugs in infinite - enemies not spawning (breaking missions), doors, the LOD being the minimum even though I am standing on the ground (so in addition to it looking like crayola ass, physical objects like walls don’t align with the visual representation… during a shootout… or a mission…)… and this was a year or so after launch. There are other issues too but it’s been a couple years and I’m just angry at this point. Half-assed if I’ve ever seen it.
I spent thousands of hours in CE and around a thousand in 2, on pc. MCC was exciting, since I finally got to play 3, ODST, and Reach. 4 is awful, and with the state of Infinite (and apparently 5), it’s no wonder they are recycling the good games. But it’s definitely over, like a washed-up rock band or a one-hit-wonder singer. And it’s all Microsoft’s fault.

I have a server that I wanted to do this with, and cpu-only interference was several minutes for pretty simple tasks (all text, couple of sentences). I shelled out the cash for a 5060 Ti 16GB earlier this summer, and even with a pcie 3 x16 slot running at x4, I’m down to 5-30 second responses and rapid output speeds, even with large conversations. But the initial prompt/loading is still a couple of minutes by itself, so I leave the model in vram always.

I went from Dockge to Dockhand, though both are good. Dockge was my UI of choice for the last couple of years, so slim and simple. I tried Dockhand on a whim and the extra features won me over, without having a bazillion buttons and confusing UI.

GTAV did the same bullshit, delaying the pc version. GTA4 gave pc players an absolute shitstain version, at release even the strongest systems couldn’t hold a steady 30 fps with max settings.
Rockstar used to be a pc-first developer. In the last 15 years they have actively worked against the interests of their original community, and Microsoft and Sony are gleefully cheering them on.
This goes for anyone considering buying into their bullshit: stop bending over and taking it. This will continue to get worse if the profits outweigh the backlash.
I’ve played gta since 2, and I’m considering getting 6 for the pc, but this timed exclusivity is nothing but bullshit. Full stop, there’s nothing more to it. Don’t support it.

I use docker since it’s what I learned on a decade ago, and my nas that I started from supports docker bit not podman in the ‘app store’. I have three other machines running plain Debian, but I would want everything to work together, y’know? I’ve got a set-and-forget setup and I’d rather not break things without substantial benefit…
Plus everybody is like ‘it’s the same thing, no learning curve’ but then I start reading up on it and uhoh, learning curves :p

I was introduced to it by a synology nas a decade ago, and it’s my preferred fs. I wish proxmox supported it, my compute server had to go with ext4 since it’s got one disk for the system, and one for the VMs, no redundancy. They say it’s in ‘tech preview’ but most mainstream distros have had it for years now…

Yeah, I know the details but for a widely distributed program with unwanted ‘feature’, it seemed to fit the bill close enough. It’s not 1:1 but I don’t think there’s a name for what honey is, and labeling it as something like a ‘Potentially Unwanted Program’ is too wide of a category for it, since it does do what it says for the user, just also for its own self-interests as well…

That seems like really bad efficiency, or really expensive power. I used to have a Nissan Leaf that would do over 5 miles to the kW. Even with rather substantial battery degradation, I could get 80 miles to a charge, and a full charge would run me about $1.25 at the local utility rates.

Tbh, for me there’s just a couple of ‘creators’ I watch that do it for their careers, and they didn’t start that way; the rest (50 or so subs) still do it ‘right’, even years later. YouTube started as a platform where everyone can create and share, and people who saw an opportunity for money helped turn it into the shit that it is today. When you (them) have multiple sponsorships per video, the production quality matching broadcast television, prominently show off your new car, house, jet… You (them) are the problem.
This needs a reset back to goofy video game machinimas, cyber police, hiiii my name is boxxy, arby n the chief; when people who hit record didn’t want money. They were there to share with others.
Interesting - my friend is on an amd card (don’t remember the model, want to say 6700/XT) and I’m on the 7900 XTX.
