I’m wondering now if its possible to get a controller for xbox with the hexagon (octagon? Cant remember) shape around the right stick.

It wasnt necessarily the difficulty that got to people it was how daft it was. The train leaves your line of sight for like 3 seconds and its mission failed. Its a fucking train, its not going to turn down an alley or something.

If its a game that appears on gamepass I probably feature in those stats. I dont have the time/attention span for a big epic game any more, so I’ll play it for a little while and when its obvious the scope is outside of my capabilities I just drop it. RDR2 I dropped as soon as I got past the prologue and into the camp. It showed me the size of the map, and then all the little fetch quests you’d need to reshoe your horse, and you need to keep your camp stocked with food, and I just said nope.

I’ll also drop games if they don’t feel “unique” enough. This is pretty subjective and open to hypocrisy on my part. I gave up on Hogwarts Legacy after the first fight. I was excited for Bully or Skool Daze in a magical world, but it was just assassin’s creed with magic wands.

Yeah the bios thats the word I was blanking on. Maybe i just ended up in the wrong places but it turned out there was like 8 different versions and multiple regions of each version and I kept running out of patience before running out of options.

Is PS1/2 emulation “out-of-the-box-easy” yet?

I’ve tried a few times over the years and always lost patience before figuring out which bit went where. It was always missing a file that was “super-illegal to distribute but you can get it somewhere winkwink” but it was all region locked or something and I’m losing the will to live just trying to remember it.

I’ve got very little evidence/knowledge, just “common sense” guesses, but i think there’ll be a lot of survivor bias in that. We hear about the titans of industry who shaped mankind with revolutionary techniques/inventions, and we see the statues of people who made massive impacts on the world, but we don’t hear so much about the “made shitloads by reallocating resources creatively, spent it all on child sex-slaves, what a bastard”

It’ll be good, but it won’t be as good as its hyped up to be, because even a game coded by an army of time-travelling future-messiahs from every conceivable dimension couldn’t be as good as the hype suggests.

What you can look forward to is every single content creator even remotely related to digital entertainment talking about how its the best/worst thing ever, dissecting every single plotpoint, getting enraged/excited over every minor update, endless discussions over the price of the mtx that will generate more revenue than a mid-sized countries GDP.

Even if the game sucks by every objective metric, children and casuals will still throw money at it every chance it gets. The game has to be amazing for me to have any hope.

Candy Crush makes about a billion dollars a year. GTA V makes about 500 million from selling shark cards. Whatever happening at the steam store to warrant an article like this isn’t on steam, its 100% on consumers being dumbasses.

I’m not surprised. The actual game designers and developers tend to have passion for their work. Musicians want their to be heard, artists want their work to be seen, game devs want their work to be played.
