If you watched the the show for Re zero you wouldn’t see what I’m talking about but it extremely clear in the web novel that Subaru is just a trans woman.

I plan on making a detailed post about this later and even a youtube video but just as a small thing;

in the very first volume of the web novel Subaru rants about how he misses being a kid because of how feminine he was, his long hair made everyone treat him like a girl and he then explicitly says that this was before puberty ruined his life.

then later when we get his back story its explained that he started high school cross dressing felt like his “real self” for the first time and was happy until his voice outted him as cross dressing.

His tragic back story is literally male puberty.

Im saying this mostly because how Subaru is written becomes really sad when you read some of ther Q and A stuff the author is on record saying.

Tappie the author of re zero was be on record saying (and this is paraphrased “I wrote Emila to be naive and child like because to me childhood and innocence represents people being their true selves, after puberty people are forced to give up their true selves to fit into society and this goes doubly so for men its my to me the ultimate expression of being who you really are can only be experienced by women”

“Subaru cross dressing has nothing to do with them being gay, Cross dressing is a normal thing guys like doing Subaru is just really good at it, their wont be any lgbt relationships or characters in re zero”

Like I understand this might just be a thing where it sound way worse because this is not the original japanese but just the general idea is still crazy.

All this added with the fact that his two biggest projects are pretty on the nose representations of dysphoria especially VIVI and them writting only female protaganists outside of subaru who himself is constantly said to be more like his mom than his dad.

i dont know it just feels like so many japanese mangaka are have these half way to being trans characters

My blog has been up and running for a few months now and I wanted to have a better idea of what sort of visitor numbers I was getting but as it is a blog about FOSS, self-hosting and privacy I wasn’t just about to hand data to Google.

I managed to set up a self hosted instance of Rybbit but it was a bit heavier resource wise than other options I have looked at so I had to have a major overhaul in my Proxmox node layout!

The basics about types of open-source software licenses, their differences, how to choose a license etc.

I made some progress on the logo of my game. I wanted to showcase some variation of colors in the game through the logo, so I implemented a gradient animation on it. Overall pretty happy with it.

Today’s game is Majora’s Mask. I’m not sure why but i just wasn’t feeling up for anything, and went digging around for something. I guess at some point i had set the Recomp up and went ahead and this sounded better than nothing so i launched it.

This is only my second brush with this game. The first one was around 2017, when i played the Remake on my 3DS. I 100% that one and it was one of my favorite games at that time.

Playing through the original is kind of like learning too read it in different handwriting. It’s not bad, just slightly different. One of the main things that was “different” was the Astral Observatory. The way i remember it on the Remake, everything was a pinkish hue. Meanwhile in the OG it has a kind of trippy rainbow effect i can’t really describe, except as being akin to the Bowser Levels in SM64, which is an aesthetic i really love.

I am absolutely sure i’m not treading any new ground here either, but i love the Timer mechanic. Going back through this created a hectic moment that would have normally been forgettable.

I had gotten cocky and just killed time until midnight to get to the top of the tower, what i had forgotten was i needed the Land Plot to get up there. When midnight hit and i only had 5 minutes left. I was scrambling to the plot to try and get it sure i had failed something. Thankfully i had grabbed the Moon’s Tear before leaving the observatory, but if i hadn’t, it would have ended my run all because I was too cocky. It was an incredibly memorable experience just for that last minute rush it created because of my own ego.

Anyways, i may play more soon. I think i was just in a bit of a slump today and nothing sounded good. I have an old CRT Monitor and i think it’d be cool too hook it up too that, so maybe that’s something i’ll do next time i play.

Meta was paying out-and-out neo-Nazis to post on Facebook, an investigation from Australia’s ABC News found.

These pages and individual creators posted content that appeared to be in clear violation of Facebook’s own hate speech policies. Nonetheless, they were able to earn money on their posts through the platform’s “Content Monetization” program — which is invitation-only.

One receiving payouts from Meta was Hugo Lennon, a known far-right agitator and white nationalist with ties to neo-Nazi groups. Lennon was taken away by police for hurling racial abuse at India’s prime minister Narendra Modi during his stay at a Melbourne hotel, and is believed to be one of the organizers behind an “anti-immigration” march on a sacred Indigenous site in the city last year.

Lennon, in other words, was a known quantity, and Meta should’ve been under no illusions about who they were paying to drive engagement on the platform. Still, the investigation found that he’s been receiving payments from Facebook since September 2025.

Meanwhile, the Facebook page for the Australian white supremacist site The Noticer has been making money through the revenue program since November 2025. Underscoring how much Meta has dropped the ball on this one, even X — owned by Elon Musk, who performed two suspiciously Sieg Heil-looking salutes back in 2025 — has banned The Noticer for violating its “hateful profile policy.”

I’m trying to use signal on two profiles of my grapheneos phone. I’m already aware signal only allows one device per account, so I’ve been trying to use the Molly fork, which allows me to connect as a linked device. However, when I switch profiles and try to link it just doesn’t work. Does anyone have any solutions? This is really important to me.

EDIT: for anyone interested this is the only possible solution without rooting. Since grapheneos resets your internet after every profile switch it’s not possible to do this with internet. You must have a sim card with cell data. Once you toggle off your wifi and vpn, the whole process should work fine. (You still need another device to take a photo of the qr code with). Also the qr code expires so be quick. Also official signal app doesn’t seem to work, so I would use Molly.
