Microsoft and IBM both donate to the Linux Foundation itself. They are both platinum members who regularly give them funds for all kinds of projects. This is really idiotic gotcha attempt.
A donation isn’t quite the same as pay (as in salary)! I’m thinking of Miguel de Icaza and Lennart Poettering, for example.
