Touching a Person without consent is harassment in my opinion. Donât go around touching people especially at work.
A pat on the back is a cultural thing, itâs important to understand the differences between cultural expression and harassment.
Itâs not to say that you have to be okay with it or that you are not allowed to state your discontent, itâs just these issues need to be handled in different ways.
A back pat can be handled in a âHey John this is making some people uncomfortable please stopâ way where true harassment should be handled in a âJohn youâre firedâ kind of way.
Those are the ideal scenarios though, as we know people arenât always fired for harassment.
