yeah, google have two OSes they’re already holding people captive on.
I can’t even get to a boot screen on a family member’s chromebook to see if I can replace it with a different OS to ChromeOS. Android is getting demolished as we speak too.

yeah, default is sysvinit , can choose systemd if you want. Unsure why, since the point of the *X* distros (MX, antiX etc) is to not use systemd.
I barely game on it (it’s probably very do-able but I just don’t have the time or apetite anymore to invest in big titles).

Which DE did you go for? Fluxbox or XFCE, and did you change it to something else? I spent some time messing about with fluxbox on MX on a VM and it feels pretty good, but I’m enjoying using LXQT in my VMs
