Selfhosting payment processing

My payment processor just terminated my account and i am reminded once again too self host literally everything.

I already have a self hosted crypto rail but for many people that is not an option, bank transfer is quite easy to do with just checking against my bank’s API, but remembering from the data before i got terminated it was around 40% transfer, 40% ideal, 20% card.

Is there anyway to self host those other payment ways outside transfer?

Does anyone have experience with this?

I said the same in another comment already.

As with everything, same with governments shoveling millions if not billions into microslop products it should be open. Open source/weight AI is very capable nowadays so it shouldn’t be an issue.

I don’t expect the government to be able to go into fully training their own foundational model, but a few racks in a government building somewhere can run open source/weight AI for a fraction of the cost. And is fully sovereign too instead of sending it to some provider.

Assuming the income stays the same

Corporations spend less = shareholders get richer

Governments spend less = other services get funded more, national deficit gets lower, taxes get reduced. Depending on what the government decides to spend the savings on.

How is it functionally the same?

If we accept that employees spend the same amount of time as without AI but now the error rate is reduced then yes. I don’t think that is the case but I don’t have the numbers so who knows.

I’m making up numbers because I don’t have the actual numbers and 2x is easy for the example, insert whatever numbers you like.

The issue with that statement is that putting double the employees on a project doesn’t always improve its quality.

If we go with the numbers we have been going with and a employee with AI is twice as productive then adding AI effectively doubles the time available. This only leads to a quality increase if work was being cut short. If each employee already got the required time necessary to handle a application with full quality then you haven’t increased quality but the capacity. If the now increased capacity is far above normal volume it is a waste to have so much excess capacity.

No? Where have I excluded that option? If for normal volumes 100 employees are need to process. And with AI only 50 are needed, then it’s still cost saving?

Why are those mutually exclusive?

If a human clerk handling applications or something makes an error 1 in a 100 applications and an AI system has the same error rate but is far cheaper. Then quality stays the same.

That’s why I emphasized if, there are plenty ways to get lower quality with human employees aswell.

If AI can do the same job with equal quality, why would it be bad if the primary motivation is to secure savings only?

I’m not Finnish but as a citizen i would rather have my tax money spent on stuff that can’t be automated then on stuff that can.

I guess they are referring to this paragraph in 4.1:

Mollie may also decide, at its own discretion, to decline products and services that are not explicitly mentioned on the list, but which pose an unacceptable risk to Mollie based on its internal policies.

But I have no idea why i am considered unacceptable risk?

Yeah, but it’s more of the same as far as I understand, a closed scheme that requires a payment processor to enter.

It’s also not available in the Netherlands yet.

Netherlands, i can acsess my bank’s API no issue, that’s how i made my current bank transfer integration, but card payments are now impossible.

There are certain categories of Organisations and activities for which the Payment Services cannot be used. Most of these categories are imposed by the Financial Institutions and Intermediaries and applicable Scheme Rules used by Mollie to process Transactions. Mollie keeps a list of prohibited activities. Mollie has made the full list of prohibited activities, products and services available on its website. Mollie can, at any time and without prior notice, change this list, and remove or add activities or services. Mollie may also decide, at its own discretion, to decline products and services that are not explicitly mentioned on the list, but which pose an unacceptable risk to Mollie based on its internal policies.

By registering with Mollie, you confirm that you will not use our services for activities other than those approved during registration or explicitly approved by Mollie afterwards. If Mollie thinks or suspects that you are nevertheless accepting payments for prohibited activities as referred to in this Agreement, you must cease these prohibited activities immediately at Mollie’s request. If you do not cease the prohibited activities within the period set by Mollie, Mollie reserves the right to suspend your Account and/or terminate this Agreement with immediate effect. In case of doubt, you should contact Mollie Support for further information. Isn’t this already what people do when they pay with EURC?

buy EURC at an exchange, get it into their wallet, send it to my wallet, i sell the EURC for EUR at an exchange?

I mean i don’t mind paying a bit, they also have costs they need to cover ofcourse.

What i do mind is all this legal stuff, and then i submit the legal stuff, and my account gets terminated for no reason.

I’ve been searching aswell but also with these results they all seems to be dashboards, gateways, or whatever that integrate with payment processors. I can’t find a truly self hosted payment processor.

The only one that genuinely claims to do it is Payram, but they seems so sketch that im not going to use it.

This seems to be a dashboard for payment processors like the other one linked here, however Payram seems to be an actual payment processor without KYC, no idea how they do it but im not complaining.

Still looking into payram and i have to say it looks a bit sketchy but if it works it works.

EDIT: I would recommend against using Payram for anyone reading this, it’s very sketchy and what seals the deal for me is their application is closed source.

What i ment with bank transfer is that people send money to my bank account with a payment reference, and i poll the bank API to see if a payment has arrived with that reference.

No my bank doesn’t allow me to send SEPA debit, I don’t have a consumer bank account i have a business account but they still don’t allow it.
