It isn’t an argument, because there are almost 50 chat alternatives out there, it’s like saying you have to use VW or BMW. To communicate with unknown people there are forums or an fediverse instance like Lemmy or Mastodon, If you want to communicate with your friends or family any of the above proposed chats is enough, or use your phone for what it is, to make a call (yes, this finction still works in smartphones without any app).

I don’t even use an chat app in my Phone, when i want to communicate with my family or friends, I’do it in the old school methode with a call or an SMS/MMS, alternatively in a bar or at home with some beers, same as before phones without cable. I don’t need more than this.

It isn’t a lie, they value your privacy a lot, they make money selling it to third parties.
Longer the text of the PP, less privacy in the service, always. Services with real privacy don’t need a long PP with a lot of legal jerga, they have nothing to hide. Best to scan the service with Webbkoll or Blacklight, Or Exodus (Android), there you see what they do with your data.

Ok, but security and traffic cams are not the same, they are restricted to certain areas, eg shops, ATM, etc., there it must be possible to identify the person. They are visible to everyone and avoidable because it, Smartglasses are not, same as you could’t use a hidden cam to cast everyone in the street or use a drone to film people in their houses through the window.

Maybe, but it’s really what Murena offers, + own Mobile OS and also Smartphones by FairPhone, even a special OS for kids, it’s a whole good infrastructure, not only a mailprovider. All European and OpenSource. It’s way more as offered by others, apart of Google. I didn’t find a better service to substitute Google.

Filming persons without their consent is not only BS, it’s illegal and punished with high fines, more if it goes online, even Google in it’s Street View is forced to blur faces and carplates for this reason.

Tuta (Germany) and Murena Workspace are good mail providers. Murena (France) apart is an excelent all in one substitute for GDrive and other Google services. They also sell Fairphone with own OS (eOS)

From Casio even in 1984, with TOUCHSCREEN where you could write the numbers to calculate, Casio AT-552 Janus or the TC600 from 1980 with touchscreen keyboard. Way ahead of their time.

Steal their work? well, but mathematician worked a lot of years on the problem without a solution, means that their work wasn’t correct. Apart scientific papers are accessible by everyone, not only AIs. Maybe the mathematicians have to think a little more about teamwork, storing their work locally or encrypted, instead claims about copyright and AI stealing their work. But the capabillity of AIs is to be able to find interrelations between millons of datas in hours, something for what humans need decades to do the same. That is the point and also the danger of AI, it get the data it needs from everywhere and web content is open, AI don’t have any ethics or respect of copyrights, all web content is information as is. All you put online is public (or everything online) by definition, there isn’t any copyright to avoid it.

OK, distributing malware owned by other company >10years ago, anyway none of the pages I listed is mencioned in your Cyberinsider (?) link. Apart I never saw any fishy traffic in the monitoring. For sure you’ll find negative reviews and malware claims for any other VPN, proxy extensions or other apps in the web if you search for it, the competitors also pay reviews. Yes, it’s my choice, because it works exactly as it should.

Nice history, but the extension works as it should and its not a VPN (none of browser “VPN” extensions really is), but a proxy for which I use it sometimes for mentioned reasons. CyberGhost currently has alway an excellent review in IT publications and independent benchmarks, it don’t log and also don’t has any bandwith limits in the proxy only limits in the amount of servers, which is free to use (incomes through premium accounts in its VPN service). Nothing fishy in it. Windscribe is also good, but the free versin has a data limit, not so good for streaming services.

Not neccesarly a privacy issue, same as Lemmy knows automaticly your log-in data, it’s called cookies which are stored locally with your account data and preferences (also cache, serviceworkers. history, local storage…). You can delete it (normally with Shift-Ctrl-Del appears an menu with all this, to delete it selectively), but then you have to enter again your nick and password to access the page.

At home never, only sometimes a proxy (CyberGhost extension, Chrome, Firefox) in case of country restrictions. In my phone no need, I don’t use public WiFi, it’s enough with InVizible Pro. Apart the Portmaster app on desktop (Windows, Linux)

I have an Murena account, this include apart of mail, also e/OS, Nextcloud instance, Oonline Office and a lot more, they even sell Phones (FreePhone). substitute practically all Google apps and services. I also use the Portmaster app (FOSS, Windows and Linux), it includes optional (paid OpenSource) an SPN service, which is an multichannel VPN

Not all, I use Cartes (French, OpenSource) which is pretty complete. GPS, public transport, bicycle, by feet, distances, restaurants, shops, administrations, etc… One of the most complete I found, it use Data, apart from OSM, also from NASA, Mapl and Citybic.

They have cloud storages where you can creat folders to store photos and anything else. In kDrive 15GB for free. For photos I use also vgy.me (UK), free, script to include it in ShareX.
