But it’s the vacuum of the high pressure air escaping that causes the can to decompress, not cooling air that we see as steam. The kitchen pressure was the same one affecting the can outside when it was being heated, it was the rapid change in temperature that caused the hot high pressure air inside the can to rush and vacuum pull the can: decompression.
You can try it out if you want with a hot air ballon or bag. The ballon or bag will simply reform ot it’s original deflated form.
Vacuum is the decompressor here, not the air.

No, Zizzy is correct, this is air decompression, Notice the steam cloud forming due to rapid hot air being expelled out of the quickly changed [in temperature] can.
Compression would be something stronger than aluminium crushing the thin can into something denser. The air would have to be plasma to achieve that that level of physical compression. -

I tried reviewing that continuity to see if it was the one I read, but the artstyle didn’t match, or Orion’s position when recruiting Megatron in the war. Plus, Megatron is the hero in Shattered Glass. The one I read still made him a villain. I found it whiplashing that as soon as Orion got the MoL, he somehow gained empathy. I stopped reading exactly there, because after all the genocide he committed on that continuity, he now regrets his actions and won’t reparate‽ What kind of monster are you writing? Empathy needs to follow up with appropriate reparations you 🤬🤬🤬🤬

There was a comic series were Orion was a pathological serial killer, and that is how Megatron befriend Pax, “enemy of my enemy.” Ariel dies in this one. I am not a fan of the series, so forgive me for not recalling the name of the retcon continuity.
