on EU Kids Act Won't Keep the Internet Accountable and Trustworthy in c/technology@lemmy.world · 3d ago
One of the most irritating aspects of the “EU Kids Act” is that a single, technically questionable measure is being treated as if it could solve a complex societal problem. Education and the development of digital literacy cannot be mandated by bureaucratic monstrosities detached from reality.
Just as in real life, children and young people need to learn to recognize risky situations, set boundaries, and seek help. Regulation should support them in this, but it cannot replace these skills.

Of course, absolutely…
Even at USSR times, children were safer and much more educated, self-confident, self-sufficient, or even more free back then. They were capable to think with their own head, make choices, believe in their decisions. They were capable and mature.
They were disciplined and had a direction for a better life.Now? Most of the children are dependent or even addicted, uneducated, have organization and health issues, and rarely decide themselves but rely on trends/hearsay/rumors, and have no idea what to do or where to go with their life, I believe, considering the most children I see nowadays.
That “Kids Act” is ridiculously awful, disgusting even… It is designed to manipulate on the future of us, people, starting from children, to control now children then mature, and make them dependent on the system from their dear infant development time when you absorb knowledge like a sponge.
That system is going to force children to be raised within that limited and carefully designed system so that raised people would continue to live how the system wants them to live, since they don’t even know other options based their mind foundation on it. That system disregards your individual safety mechanisms, making your unique worldviews limited, controllable, and vulnerable for those who control it within that “act” system.
That is, a child that did not learn how to distinguish good from bad, learn how to protect themselves manually, will depend on that system or parents, but when parents die, the system will be their own “safety” they’ll trust, and hence - controlled by it.

Indeed… such an awful sorrow…
Such decisions for “AI” is a pure disgrace and a blatant disrespect to the history, experience, dedication, effort… love… of the contributors, developers, artists… people… of the whole project, and the infinitely marvelous history itself…
I will never consider this project for anything, and won’t recommend it to anyone.
There are more appreciated projects also mentioned in the comments, including:
- Dockhand by @Kirk@startrek.website ;
- Arcane by @Zeoic@lemmy.world ;
- Konodo by @FlexibleToast@lemmy.world ;
- Dockge by @girlnamedzero@piefed.zeromedia.vip ;
…Thank you, dear Developers and Artists, People… for actually considering the art, effort, attitude, human… and being careful for the infinitely magnificent history and future…

These are not your words. You should quote references properly.
Update [2026-09-11_13-32-00+0]
The OP chose to not refer to the known author of the words. So, I’ll do.
So, from our point of view, what we saw more and more is that Piracy was a result of bad service on the part of game companies.

Meanwhile, indeed, this Community, apparently, has so many hateful people… You do you, people. It’s your life of hatred you create.

It’s sorrowful to know you, or that “pirates”/people like you have guts to admit your sorrow on public.
Piracy is never ever good unless for history/archiving, and still is questionable.You? You are a simple infant robber, a spoiled child, who stole money, or just did not pay people for their life work. A work on ineffably magnificent art…

I love it! The symmetry of the edge line is awesome!
Relatively recently, I had a personal web page where a implemented a cube in the center that was rotating and its every single side had a little secret inside for various crucial terms of life…
Cubes are recurring items in the Rusty Lake games, and have a key role in the entire series. They appear in one variety or another in every game.

I haven’t explore this title nor I had an idea it exists, am sorry, but what I found on socials is quite… sorrowful… Included some below…
The work on the characters is quite significant, or frankly, freaking marvelous, too…
For example, the art for Jinx found: Jinx - Wiki (With an arsenal of custom guns, traps, and explosives…)The new upcoming character, Lux… is no words… so ineffably magnificent…

I’ve been dreaming of a game like this since I first played league of legends back in middle school and when it was announced they were making a fighting game I was so excited and we waited so long and finally got it in our hands and I enjoyed playing with my duo so much. Just for it to die not even a FULL YEAR after full release… nothing short of devastated, disappointment, grief and anger are the only emotions I can think on. I was so excited to see more champions. Ones that would be perfect for this game. Now it will never happen. If you wanna truly make this right riot, I would hope you let the modding community be able to work on the game

Bro i waited 5 years for this game ever since they announced it, played every beta and alpha and been playing since release, bro please don’t do this i love this game, i love fighting games so much but this one has been the one i’m best at i’ve been having so much fun with my friends and enjoyed the game a lot and i know a lot of people do too, so why stop development when there is still many people playing it and the events are getting pretty good attendence, i hope they rethink their decision or continue development in some way
-–
They expected the same return as TFT and LoL when a fighting game isn’t very profitable because the genre have a small player base. I think they should have released a lot of more characters. It’s a little sad. I just don’t know what to do now. I’m devastated… I had a lot of fun. The feeling of when you improve is so satisfying or when you finally learn and land a new combo. It was my first fighting game

on Torvalds: AI Is the New Compiler, Not the New Programmer in c/technology@lemmy.world · 17 Aug 2026
Thank you, but no, it does not. The URL may mean literally anything, where the “slug” may not include question marks, any punctuation, or have a partial content even:
torvalds-ai-is-the-new-compiler-not-the-new-programmerWhat if the nonsense/sloppy slug was generated like?:
Torvalds: AI is the new compiler, and not the new programmer? Torvalds. AI. The new compiler is not the new programmer.
Therefore, the URL may not express the actual title, and may also be malformed.

@inari@piefed.zip , may I ask why do you change the title so awfully it does not only not state the same as the article but misleads it?

Thank you… heartfelt… dear @belochka@lemmy.world … for the truth… for seeing it, for the actually human attitude, empathy, understanding…
Please… please share your message as an explicit blog or article post, to make it searchable! Your viewpoint, including the reference for urban environment, which is awesome, deserves it absolutely…
An actual blog post from your message will bring more people to it. Just please omit the Molotov part, since these are people, too who were raised in their environment and see the world that way. They inherit problems that should be solvable with better examples, not destruction, I believe. That is, I don’t share the same idea regarding the Molotov part path… which is cleansing, destructive, painful, and damages someone’s family whose parents loved their children, too…
Here, I wholeheartedly agree with you…
Thank you, @belochka@lemmy.world …
