I try not to think about that too much, or an idealized version of life where I realized I was trans much younger and had a supportive environment to transition in as a kid. Those didn’t happen, and I don’t want to torment myself.
Plus, there are people who love me for who I am and things that give me joy now, and I would rather spend my time thinking about and being around them
I grew my hair as long as I was allowed to, getting it cut just inside the school rules (off the collar, eyebrows, and ears from K-8; off the collar and eyebrows from 9-12), for ages. I was bullied pretty relentlessly for it, mostly from adults. I eventually caved to the social pressure and cut it short, and hated it. I tried buzzing it and hated it even more. Had it short for probably around 8-10 years because I felt like I didn’t have any other choice.
And now it’s down past my shoulders, and I love it so much 🥰
I haven’t found anything that helps, but no one has ever been a dick to me when I’ve said “sorry, I didn’t hear you, I have an auditory processing thing”
Thanks ❤️ I’m really glad to be here and to be who I am now
I am deeply ashamed of my religious past. I believed and said some truly horrible things. My church and school were my whole world, and it was very conservative and very Catholic.
And so when I was a teenager, I started using those beliefs to justify projecting hatred towards women and queerness. Probably to deflect the bullying that came my way for being very clearly not a “normal boy”, in hindsight.
That’s no excuse though, I should have done better. I’m glad that my views improved dramatically once I went to college and deconverted, but I still really regret that I certainly hurt people.
And I still kinda long for and mourn the childhood and teenage years of the person I wish that I had been but wasn’t.
WOOHOOO
I can’t wait to get mine!
Oh god, I said that exact sentence so many times 😂 “I guess I am one so I guess I’ll just keep dealing with it”
I want to go back and shake egg-me by the shoulders and tell her that you can just… be a girl!
Haha sorry about that! It took me staring so many obvious signs in the face before I got it. That doesn’t necessarily mean you’re trans or not, but just know that there are no wrong answers either way, and this community is certainly accepting of folks who are questioning 😊
My therapist must have been dying on the inside for the months of “ugh, I hate being a guy, I don’t want anyone to look at me and lump me in with the rest of the men” before I finally figured it out lol
I’ve been using it to talk to my brother for the past few weeks, and it’s super fun! I really enjoy imagining a bird flying hundreds of miles to deliver my very important meme
Nuh uh! I’m anxious too.
Hahah I have a bumper sticker that says this
