Looks like the ram and storage prices are hitting the Google TV Streamer now as well.
Naturally the rights holder failing to properly secure their shit is everyone else’s problem.
One thing I think a lot of people tend to miss when dealing with executive interviews, PR statements, and company advertising is that often times how a company defines a given term and how the actual dictionary and everyone in the world defines that term are not the same thing unless it is legally required.
Textbook examples:
Telsa, Musk, and self driving: Musk and Tesla define it as essentially what everyone else called lane assist. Then they have “full self driving” for what is supposed to be the thing everyone else would think of as self driving.
OpenAI, Sam Altman, and AGI (artificial general intelligence): No one in the AI industry has an agreed upon definition of what AGI even means. The AI labs just throw it out there for hype and funding rounds and tweak the meaning to them as they need. To most normal people I would suspect AGI means “a machine that knows its a machine and is at least as smart as the average person”.
Point being when LG says “ its TVs do not continuously record or transmit users’ conversations,” that can mean literally anything they can twist human communication methods to mean in their specific context. And it is usually the one that makes them the most money.
Because like all ad companies, Google gives way less of a shit if the ads are malicious than they do there being lots of ads displayed.
People need to learn that Apple is like all companies and treat consumer friendly actions like any other feature to add or cut when they think it is the best competitive advantage they have to play.
And tons of people said exactly that would happen the day it was announced.
I would be less concerned about it being the end of uncensored models than I would be Nvidia finding ways to make sure there are no free models hosted there that work well on anything but Nvidia hardware for the foreseeable future.

As shit as it is there is a every growing list of things you had better just be prepared to not interface with on your phone if you are going to run a Android phone without Play Services installed.
Flip side to that is once I switched my Pixel to GrapheneOS without having access to things that only work right with Play Services the phone became way less interesting outside of phone, text, casual web browsing, and photos. Which is probably a good thing.
I once tried to connect my Galaxy phone to my Samsung TV that is not connected to the local network. And the phone not only connected via bluetooth to share the video I was trying to project, it also silently passed my wifi credentials from the phone to the TV and connected itself to the internet.
Got rid of the Samsung phone soon after, and I won’t buy another Samsung TV either when this one dies.
