I live in the area. There’s pretty constant demand for java developers with Tullverket, Försäkringskassan, and SAAB often hiring. Beyond that there are a lot of consulting firms often looking for people. I managed to get a job straight out of uni.
From what I’ve gathered there’s currently an overpressure in software engineers towards the south with a lot of competition. Up here there appears to instead be an underpressure with a lot of openings popping up. The things you’d run into is that being able to speak fluent Swedish is often times ranked highly or a requirement, as is having a drivers license and for some positions being able to get a security clearance.
