Also not trying to be rude but is this Technology or Technology news? Like I keep seeing people post things but if there not like the newest tech, they get downvoted. Im not saying thats incorrect but Id like to know in case I post what the distinction is.

You can go on GitHub right now and get some specialty made distilled models. One is an extremely good bash script model that is only 90% chance of nuking my computer. Only joking a bit.
It may take more time, but everyday people can make their own models now. I’m not sure putting a ban on any country is going to do much.

Heres the thing. Its exceptionally easy to see where packets are going on most routers. IP to IP or otherwise.
So yeah, things are going out when you plug in an LG tv. So dont buy it.
There’s legit ones like the Miyoo Mini Plus and other retroconsoles. Its a hobby onto itself.

My favorite sorts are random sort (toss them up, see where they fall. are they sorted?) and bead sort (connect 4 sort).
One is potentially O(1) sort and the other is potentially O(n). haha. But in practice they are terrible. Love it.

It worked for me. Its the old style I think.
If you dont like it, you can get a lot of versions online (because its all open hardware). This is just the official supported one.
Its a bit expensive, but if you like hackable game consoles and open source games, its really fun.
You bring up some good points. Just FYI my research was specifically on ai, but a very specific branch in college. So not llm but only somewhat llm flavored.
The are already including ai chips in consumer hardware. And your thinking of llm specific limitations. But the smaller models can absolutly be thrown into hardware. Its just the algorithms are moving so fast that the hardware needs to be flexible enough. Thars the biggest reason we dont see more hardware faster than gpus. Hooe that makes sense!
Its been a minute since Ive heard of ReactOS! Its such an interesting project. From my understanding theres a lot of the same devs that helped out with early wine too. Might still im not sure.
Didnt hugging face take its inspiration from another website that hosted scientific big models to begin with? I forget.
Most people use hugging face as a glorified model download storage. I can see a competitor pop up almost instantly.
Where the “value” is in the name recognition and ability to take models they dont like down.
Bitcoin went through a similar trajectory. Graphic cards to specualty chips.
Its quite common in some industries. Lots of different git remote references no github. It works well when you dont care or dont want piulic repos out in the wild.
I used to do a ton of contract work that way. It went away forva bit but about 3 years ago its coming back. Ive heard complaits about ai and that github is much less stable.

I had a 4 I think? That one lasted about a year and a half before the battery wouldn’t last more than half a day. Then it bricked one day. Not sure what happened.
The 6a was the worst. It was cheap and good at first. But then kept getting hotter and hotter…almost burnt me.

My 2fa works in /e/ but im going to assume other OSes probably wont.
I use android via /e/os. But I cannot experiment with my only phone. There is 2fa and other such services that I have to have access to. Worst case, I cant get into accounts and such.
FF is a great phone btw.

I have owned two google phones. Both had hardware issues/battery issues and one almost exploded. One day it got super hot and the battery turned into a spicy pillow. Sorry but im not going to get another google phone as long as I live. Neither lasted more than 2 years.
Is there a good small cheap repairable phone out there? I have a fairphone4 and I LOVE /E/ OS. But I would also like to actually USE a linux phone. And I cant experiment as much as I would want on my main phone.
Ive almost thought about carrying a tiny burner phone then a small laptop for everything else.

I got a copy of an old shmup flash game: RPG_Shooter_Starwish
with ruffle working. Its super old, but the music and gameplay still hold up. Thats a screenshot taken today a moment ago. Its an RPG SHMUP all rolled into one. Its from the old kongregate days. I would LOVE to get it working with my miyoo mini at some point but I fear it would be difficult.
