Some Samsung smart fridges stopped working on Tuesday due to a firmware update.

Korean outlets were the first to report the problems, which affect Samsung’s Bespoke AI line of fridges. Star News Korea, per a Google-provided translation, said that most of the affected devices were four-door fridges from 2024 or later.

You can also add devices to groups by MAC address or hostname, but a static IP might be best.

I only need a couple of domains to work. My way could be a hassle if you need to figure out whitelists for a few services.

It put my TV in its own group in pi-hole, blocked everything (.*) for that group, and then whitelisted what I wanted the TV to be able to get to.

I vaguely remember hearing about that, but when I searched the community to see what other people use the first link I found was archive.is. Replacing that archive doesn’t really seem to have taken off.

I said somewhere else that giving money to a distro won’t even have an ROI, but I didn’t know about this. If the distro is promoting their product that’s a whole other thing.

Nonetheless, it seems the company has sacrificed a moral position for a “mission-driven” position. In the same message to staff, Faugno says “the scale and growth of [Omarchy’s] use among our customers is significant - Omarchy has grown to be the second most used Linux distribution among 1Password users."

I didn’t know Omarchy existed until, like, yesterday, so this is surprising. Do 1Password users just tend not to use Linux, so second place isn’t many users?

The translation later is called Rosetta 2 (Rosetta 1 having been for the PowerPC to Intel transition), and it looks like it’s mostly going away next year, so buying a Mac with the intention of using it would probably be a bad idea at this point.

Defo would recommend changing your email though. Takes a while to do all your accounts but once it’s done you’re free! Feels good.

And if you move to provider that will let you use your own domain, you won’t need to update your accounts next time you switch.

In a post on the Microsoft 365 Admin portal (I am glad it’s not renamed yet), the company notes that “Microsoft 365 Roadmap is becoming the AI at Work Roadmap,” as it “centralizes AI-powered innovation tracking without changing access or workflows.”

They didn’t rename a product. They renamed a roadmap to make it more general. That’s not that bad; certainly nothing worth doomposting about.

Floppy is a fork of Yamtrack that recently got its own name. From the notes on that release (emphasis mine):

I’m still not a professional developer; I’m an enthusiastic maintainer using AI coding tools to build the media tracker I want to use. The article says ASML is dependent on US suppliers. Cutting off sales to the US would probably backfire.

ASML is also dependent on American suppliers for its own production. In the past, American threats to disrupt the company’s supply chain have successfully convinced the Dutch government to further restrict ASML’s exports.
