iPhone users are flooding social media with complaints — Apple’s latest iOS move is adding persistent ‘ads’ that can’t be dismissed to users’ devices
iOS users are complaining that Apple is placing ‘ads’ for its own products on their iPhones.
Infuriatingly for iOS users, the only way to disable these promos is to either let them expire — which in many cases could take weeks or even months, leaving a persistent notification badge on the Settings app in the meantime — or pay for the service being offered.
“Wouldn’t ever be me,” I think smugly, opening the menu on my FOSS Firefox browser and being greeted with…
at least yours is app based, and not baked into the OS
I recommend IronFox on Android!
No one is safe from the enshittification!
Which ads? Is there an example?
Is this with iOS 27? I have not updated to it and it seems I will not at all.
