ZDNET China joins Europe in scrapping Windows for Linux The specialized Chinese version of Windows was already scheduled for retirement in February 2027, but now its end-of-life date has been moved up.

  It’s probably fine for them. My guess is that they went this way because it wasn’t profitable enough anymore, so they started the enshittification process. Windows has become a smaller slice of the pie so these things won’t matter much. They’re probably mostly focused on AI and Azure.
