An attack by what Ukrainian officials said was a Russian drone with an Nvidia chip presages a dystopian future of weaponry untethered to humans.
You have to wonder if NVIDIA should suffer any kind of liability for its hardware being used in these strikes.
That would be saying gun companies should be sued because they use guns in wars.
Republicans had to explicitly grant an exemption to the industry back in 2005, in response to a wave of lawsuits successfully pinning manufacturers with responsibility for proliferation and criminal misuse.
Even despite this liability protection, Remington Arms’ four insurance companies paid a $73 million settlement with Sandy Hook plaintiffs in 2021 regarding its alleged violations of state law (specifically Connecticut’s Unfair Trade Practices Act). Although PLCAA protections had been raised by the manufacturer in Sandy Hook negotiations prior to the settlement, a similar but entirely separate case had been declined by the U.S. Supreme Court in 2019 (Remington Arms Co. v. Soto).
So there’s ample precedent.

Once we hear about such things, it’s been happening for years. I suspect they have been testing AI for a decade and are now refining it. Like a beta.
Look at the construction on that captured drone; looks like it would cost five dollars at a garage sale. Virtually the only cost of these things would be the electronics, even the explosives are cheap.
So, every time that you’ve “proved” that you’re human by selecting “what is a crosswalk?” and so on, it’s just one more data point for an autonomous killer robot made of Styrofoam. It’s not even cool like a T-800 Terminator robot.
