      The creator made a BTS video which shows how they used AI to produce some scenes.

      But as far as Lain transcending into an AI, there was an official Lain chat bot a few years ago: www.youtube.com/watch?v=f9dl_yJwLSA

  This is a snippet from project’s site.

  Technology is not the goal. It is a means of expression.

  serial experiments lain also used cutting-edge digital expression for its time, and it caused both praise and criticism.

  If, in 1998, people had feared new technology as “too early” or “wrong,” I do not think that work could have been born.

  Where can I read more about this “praise and criticism”? Cause this seems to be one of the arguments for AI uses in production.
