Hello!
Regarding what Gamers Nexus recently disclosed regarding LG TVs in their latest video I think its finally time to do what I can to mitigate it.
I cant root it since the firmware is too new and I cant afford a new TV either. My best bet would be blocking all LG IPs network-wide and disconnecting it from the network. (Although I understand even that might not be enough, its the best I can do right now)
I was thinking of using an old Raspberry to atleast access youtube and my media server, however I dont know what would be a good OS/distro to run this on. Preferably I would want to use something like an old PS4 controller as the remote.
Anyone here who has any suggestions or living room setups to suggest? Any and all tips are welcome.

I have never especially enjoyed multiplayer games. With the notable exception of the Splatoon franchise (no in-game chat!) and a brief Overwatch phase, I’ve simply never been down with the idea of logging on and being perceived, no matter through many layers of digitized separation, by other people. For the most part, gaming is an experience of blessed solitude for me, even when the thing I’m playing is nerve-shreddingly scary. But although I do not personally enjoy most multiplayer experiences, I see exactly why and how others do. The extra layer of emergent chance, the different strategy you must employ when playing against other humans, hell, even the possibility of a positive social encounter. All of these things, I feel, are valuable.
Except when the game you’re talking about is Dead By Daylight, or one of its nauseatingly infinite knock-offs (Texas Chain Saw Massacre, Evil Dead, etc.). “Asymmetrical horror” games, as the genre has become known, pit one player – playing as the villain, monster, or otherwise Big Bad – against four other players who are trying to escape the first player’s clutches. These matches take place on a maze-like map and involve a series of simple puzzles and even simpler stealth, and end either when the Villain Player has killed all other players, or a certain number of living human players escape. There are frequent film tie-in hijinks, creepy character models, and slasher-movie references galore. Sounds like a fun, schlocky time, right?

I host my own instance of invidious behind a reverse proxy. It’s awesome. I use Redirector for Firefox so that when I’m on the interwebs, YouTube videos and embeds redirect automagically to my self-hosted invidious instance. I used the setup instructions in the Invidious-Redirector documentation.
Recently, I was on a new website and the embed didn’t redirect. I tried to figure it out, but couldn’t. The best I could do was try changing /embed/* to /oembed/* but that didn’t work.
So I thought I’d ask here: How would you go about setting up a rule or multiple rules to sort this?
Edit to add: If you go to the new website, make sure you either have AI chatbots blocked in uBO or create a rule ||autonomoustechnology.ai^. Otherwise there is an annoying AI chatbot that pops up that you’ll want to block.

Ketchup Entertainment’s live-action and animated feature earned $434,090 on Thursday, bringing its domestic total to $50,304,066 after 21 days in theaters, according to Box Office Mojo. It ranked fifth for the day.
Warner Bros. shelved the completed film in 2023, sparking an outcry from filmmakers, artists, and animation fans. Ketchup later acquired its worldwide distribution rights for a reported $50 million. The film’s North American ticket sales alone have now passed that reported price.
That comparison is symbolic, not a break-even calculation. Theaters keep a share of ticket sales, while Ketchup has release and marketing costs. But domestic theaters are only part of the picture. Comscore estimated the film had earned $82.8 million worldwide through last weekend, with several territories still to open. Its worldwide rights also give Ketchup opportunities to earn revenue after the theatrical run, though the terms of any future deals are not public.

I feel like an idiot realizing block devices are just… block devices.
They just hold data.
Shocker, I know.
But it just hit me when playing around with LVM. I can create a PV directly on a disk. I can even directly format a disk with FS. Floppies don’t tend to have a partition table either. On the other hand, I can partition a partition. I can also just write a Tar directly to disk, like with tape. Or any file.
But with multiple files it starts to become a problem. A-ha! I can just write files to partitions just the same to make reading them simpler.

I don’t know if it’s the limitation of GPT, but fdisk let’s me theoretically get up to 2^32^ partitions (default is 2^7^). In practice, this will be lower.
For example:

Right now I just did it manually. Check file size, divide by sector size, add one if remainder, make partition of that number of sectors, name partition, write partition table, copy file with dd and repeat.
But I should try to automate this. It could be a bash script, but I want to learn C beyond basics, so I guess I should try writing it in that.
Take destination drive and files as arguments, then do what I wrote above. And try not to nuke the wrong disk in the process.
On the other hand, I am so lazy I can’t typically even start with my hobbies. Which sucks because I want to, I just can’t… start.
Anyway, hundreds of files and partitions can’t be processed by hand any easier.
