Same game and same thought. You mean I get to be a multimillionaire farmer girl who’s dating every single eligible bachelor(ette) in the valley simultaneously? I’d give my million dollar prize back if it means I get to stay.
Minecraft. Honestly, send me into the wilderness where I can build a little log cabin by a lake, make furniture, and live off the land. And the only people around are some zombies who don’t try to talk to you. Keep your million.
hopefully start in a forest, break leaves for apples, and then follow a river until you find a village or something else to get tools
starting in a desert would be pretty bad unless you can scoop out the insides of cacti to eat. im not sure how much of minecraft rules are steve’s doing and how much are the world’s
Okay, fair that might be a way to survive (assuming minecraft apples have the same caloric intake as a real apple which i’m not certain of given they’re flat), but what about this: How would you pull up the inventory to trade with the villagers? You can’t speak their language and they aren’t intelligent.
that’d come back to what are the world’s features and are steve’s
is it steve that breaks and places everything strictly in 1x1 cubes, or is it a limitation on the actual world? is it steve that brings up UIs or is it the villagers?
though i was mostly talking about getting resources from the chests, how would chests work? if you place something in one without going through the UI, does it disapear after 5 minutes? can you take out items without going through the UI?
can you pick up anything without the NBT Tags that hold the information about what items you have? can a person collide with the world without a hitbox? does the person experience gravity? if yes, where would they be pulled? it’s only a couple hundred meters of mass under them, with an amount larger than earth around them.
sorry, i got distracted and made this way too long
Normally cars can’t enter areas with people. On the off chance they do, they clip right through the people. Also the game basically encourages you to do 1,000ft+ jumps and there’s no damage if you turn it off.
Project zomboid on easy settings (low amount of zombies, zombies are dumb, high amount of loot and easy skill gain). I’d take it. Even regular settings would be a dream in comparison to dealing with state violence, so I’d be pretty happy.
Overwatch. It looks fun from the outside, but I’m forced to participate in short matches where I repeatedly die, come back and kill cute yet soulless people all day long, for a year.
I started eating people on day 3. There is a hole were my humanity used to be. A hole that can only be filed by trembling, bloody, screaming flesh.
The hamster was first.
He was easy.
Then, month after month, I got through the rest of the roster, each one with a different bottle of wine from the Paris deathmatch map. Now my appetite, form and spirit have grown beyond what is humanly conceivable. When the map loads and they see me, they all run and shriek as my many mouths start tearing through their ever fresh, juicy bodies. As if they too were starting to remember their unending, inescapable demise.
One day it will end, but in the meantime I need to feel their bones break and heartbeats fade on my tongues.
Such delicious marrow. Such delicious broth.
Pretty good, tbh. I’ve been playing Palworld and I think I’d do okay, even if I got dropped into a permadeath server. Yeah you gotta grind, but you don’t really have to do much of anything, the pals do basically everything for you.
Game I’ve been playing the last couple of days is high-ish-magic medieval-style fantasy, which isn’t the worst world to live in. Question is whether the protagonists have been through the area yet, otherwise there’s nonzero risk of dying from supernatural creature attack or evil cults, on top of goblins and orcs which probably aren’t any worse than historic “barbarian” attacks but deadly all the same.
Do you have access to magic? Because if you’re just a normal person in a medieval world you have a pretty high chance of dying from an infection from some random small injury, and never mind the monsters or whatever.
Alternatively, if you are an NPC with plot armor you’re probably good.
Medieval societies already had some division of labor, even actual medieval medicine experts generally knew enough to treat small cuts. Since it’s a relatively high-magic world (Divinity’s Rivellon), chances are decent that they have actual healing magic, too (whether that’s actually accessible to peasants and random foreigners is another matter TBF). So I’m not saying the medicine I could access would necessarily be great from a rich western country’s perspective, but trying to survive there for a year isn’t exactly a death sentence, either. Lots of other game worlds would be way worse.
Also, I’m already severely chronically ill and contemporary medicine was so far unable to do anything about it. Actual magic might just do the trick.
So I get a million dollars and I’m stuck in a house banging 6 women for a year. I think my wife would wonder where I disappeared to for a year but the million would probably smooth things over.
You mean I can like, be in VrChat? Like my character, and my friends, and all these amazing places to go to? Dude sign me up, that’s my escape from reality.
You’ll sit in a capsule for all that time in interplanetary space or abandoned on the surface of some celestial body. Pray that there’s no life support mods installed. In any case, you’ll go mad
RDR2 for me as well. At least there’s options. I would probably play it safe by ditching the gang before I contract tuberculosis and just live as a hunter up in the mountains. The mechanics of the game would make that quite easy compared to IRL.
Witcher 3. I might be a little fucked, but I think I’d have fun before I died. Maybe I could get lucky and be one of the rich folks in a city and live peacefully for a year.
Baba is you I think was the last one. So like, I could become all walls or space, or might accidentally make myself nothing… so a fraught existence for sure
PUBG. Im gonna get murdered a lot, but at least death isnt final, given respawns exist. At least the pubg maps are quite large and interesting to explore.
Just HAD to play a Helldivers 2 match last night didn’t I… Well I mean zomboid with 1 out of 5 zombies being a runner probably ain’t gonna do me no favors either… I’m boned
I don’t even know what would happen with Balatro, do I get to be a Jimbo? Could I be Blueprint, or do I just get to the something useless like Matador?
That actually sounds pretty ideal. I’d just do what i do in the game anyway. Ride my horse, pick flowers, collect skins, camp. Occasionally go into town to get supplies and unload my furs.
But I’d end up in Spiderman. Do i get to be Spiderman or just some shmo on the street?
The plot focuses on the MC trying to solve a murder, which wouldn’t be my job.
They do all get called out for being terrible women of God. It is implied that this nunnery might be where they send problem women.
I’m playing star trucker right now so I’d be golden. Just one year of hauling cargo, customizing my rig and doing the occasional EVA to salvage expensive jetsam. Where do I sign?
i wouldn’t consider that to be too terrible. It’s beautiful and you can entertain yourself nearly endlessly outside of the narrative.
Unfortunately for me I last played 76 to see what had changed. And I’d definitely go mad since i’ve basically done and seen it all outside of some builds i want to try.
I’m screwed, Super earth is calling. I can’t not pick up the phone (Helldivers 2) (regardless of what role I’m in even not as diver but a civie I’m screwed)
Well, I would be royally screwed. I cannot explain why at all due to major spoilers, but I would be stuck in Pokemon Rejuvenation. If you have played the game up until the current final chapter or at least know the story, you know why I am royally screwed.
All I can say is being in the official pokemon game with the most villainous and successful evil team would be paradise because at least I know nobody really ever dies, NPC or otherwise.
Well that depends, am I the “main character”, if so do I start at the beginning or where I left off?
I mean, either way in satisfactory I don’t require sleep or food or drink, unless I take damage and need to eat some nuts or berries. So just avoid the local wildlife until I get the hover pack.
I remember my first time playing and not wanting to wander too far from the grassy spawn because of all the hostile fauna and unfamiliar terrain.
Now with the hover pack, a full island-spanning rail network with power pylons, dimensional depots with packaged fuel and a jetpack, I’m constantly zipping across the place and half the time I have no idea where exactly I am but I’m just hopping over the wildlife and on the off chance something hits me and I’m offended, I’ll toss a nuke at it before flying off.
I just unlocked the nuclear pasta milestone and am currently working on getting the nuclear power situation sorted while I wait for my very slow factories to pump out the space elevator bits.
I could do without ADA trying not to sound like GLaDOS-lite, but I can live with an annoying bot.
The other game I played today was Project zomboid, and as the title card says every time you start a new game, “this is how [I] died”
Legit didn’t even last 5 minutes in my starting character in a new world today. Looted the spawn house, leveled a little bit of carpentry and cooking, then got bit in the fucking driveway because I miss-timed my swing. I had a shotgun and axe, too…
Say what you will about attraction mechanics and FOMO, but logging in to do Star Trek Online event daily missions keeps me sittin’ pretty in all these hypotheticals.
Dwarf fortress lol. I think if I did not have a family I could go there for free for a year. Benefits: I can get some cool skills relatively fast and they seem to be having a jolly good time in the Inn.
the monkey paw curls and you end up as a regular guest in a playthrough by someone who tortures all their guests using flamethrowers, fireworks, electric zapping, and crashing things into you.
Hmm iracing so if the races I go into are clean I’m pretty happy with that trade, if I get stuck in lower splits with people intentionally wrecking others, im probably dead in a few days lol
Project Zomboid, so pretty fucked!
Stardew valley is basically what I want out of my life, so I might not leave
Same game and same thought. You mean I get to be a multimillionaire farmer girl who’s dating every single eligible bachelor(ette) in the valley simultaneously? I’d give my million dollar prize back if it means I get to stay.
Minecraft. Honestly, send me into the wilderness where I can build a little log cabin by a lake, make furniture, and live off the land. And the only people around are some zombies who don’t try to talk to you. Keep your million.
You’re a human though not steve. Can you punch down a tree or punch a pig to death?
hopefully start in a forest, break leaves for apples, and then follow a river until you find a village or something else to get tools

sorry, i got distracted and made this way too long
I think I would enjoy an entire year in The Stanley Parable tbh
It’s BUCKET TIME!!
As a Forza addict, I think I’ll be just fine.
Until you inevitably crash at high speed and die gruesomely
I don’t even need to drive. I could just hang out in Tokyo for a year.
Until someone inevitably crashes into you at high speed and you both die gruesomely 😉
Normally cars can’t enter areas with people. On the off chance they do, they clip right through the people. Also the game basically encourages you to do 1,000ft+ jumps and there’s no damage if you turn it off.
Just rewind time and do it better…and crash a different way
I’m well travelled, own several starships, and am mostly fluent in gek. Of course I have to fend off daily attacks by pirates and sentinels.
Damn it’s been a couple of years since I last played NMS… Should probably try to hop back in to see what kind of updates there’s been. Probably a ton
They added Pokémon. Welcome back.
Not sure how I would live in hollow knight silksong exactly do I have to be a bug or would I be myself situated above the zones.
you would be seen as a boss and would be killed by a beetle holding a needle
I’m squid!
You’re a kid now 🎶
My last game was StarCraft so I’d be dead via ling rush within the first three minutes.
Edit: StarCraft 2
One or two?
SC2. I was first introduced to 2 and then never went back to play 1. I should have specified, but it’s just “StarCraft” to me.
Project zomboid on easy settings (low amount of zombies, zombies are dumb, high amount of loot and easy skill gain). I’d take it. Even regular settings would be a dream in comparison to dealing with state violence, so I’d be pretty happy.
I like to play with the RV interiors mod, hook a trailer to a Winnebago and just wander from place to place collecting food, seeing the sights
It’s rimworld.
I don’t want to be a cannibal.
That’s fine, but know one day the straw that will break you will be you will be your lack of a dinner table.
You can scavenge berries, but the only available hats are… Let’s call them “locally sourced.”
Depends on how Night City treats me. Not sure I wanna chromed for a year’s stay.
It tends to treat everyone except a few corpos pretty damn awfully, in fact…
As long as Ghandi doesn’t nuke me I’m good
Overwatch. It looks fun from the outside, but I’m forced to participate in short matches where I repeatedly die, come back and kill cute yet soulless people all day long, for a year.

Overwatch.exe
Awesome 😎
Outer Wilds.
In 22 minutes I and everyone else am dead.
07 make it count friend
Pretty good, tbh. I’ve been playing Palworld and I think I’d do okay, even if I got dropped into a permadeath server. Yeah you gotta grind, but you don’t really have to do much of anything, the pals do basically everything for you.
Wonder why those survivors on the beach are so freaked out, the worst thing on their island are chickens and sheep
Warframe for me. I don’t think I would have very good chances of making through a whole year.
Hang out on a relay and hope it doesn’t get blown up I suppose. Or be Valkyr.
Civilization. I can’t escape it.
We live in a society civilization
On the upside, the year is only at most 1 turn. You’ll be back in no time.
Satisfactory.
A year might not be enough, come back in at least 3.
Hmm… I thought there used to be a planet underneath that solid crust of machinery.
I’m ok with it. Gotta catch em all
Game I’ve been playing the last couple of days is high-ish-magic medieval-style fantasy, which isn’t the worst world to live in. If it means to completion, then Paper Mario would be pretty cozy. If just last game played, SuperTux would be nice too. Yay! :3
Played a “Hell on Earth” run on Killing Floor 3 last, so I’m well and truly fucked.
Persona 5, so deeply pessimistic, cynical japan
So I get a million dollars and I’m stuck in a house banging 6 women for a year. I think my wife would wonder where I disappeared to for a year but the million would probably smooth things over.
Stardew Valley?
Think of games that you have a second steam account with no friends list to play.
Seems that would be Anomalous Coffee Machine. I guess that would depend on which character’s place I have to take
I like that people assume they’ll be the main character and not just a random NPC.
For instance in GTA you might just have your current life while some gangsters buy burgers.
I’m not assuming that, though.
I don’t know about you, but I’m in no way equipped to take care of myself in the 1800s using no modern technology for a year 😄
I’m a chess piece.
Let’s play a really slow game here…
You mean I can like, be in VrChat? Like my character, and my friends, and all these amazing places to go to? Dude sign me up, that’s my escape from reality.
the vr chat players’ dream
It was Ultrakill. Here’s the intro text of this game for context:
I don’t think I’m surviving an hour there, lol.
Baldur’s Gate 3…
Yeah, I’d take that bet.
music is illegal but i get to beat up cops
I opened elden ring for the first time In years Yesterday, there could be worse games, plenty of safe places to hide
Frostpunk… yeah no
Hmm…

Not bad, I guess. At least if I’m in my own city, we’re pretty set, food and water are both being produced onboard. I guess I’m a bird person now?
I don’t think I’d survive 5 minutes, let alone a year being bombarded with blocks from Beatsaber. Unless I can stand next to the track.
Kerbal Space Program. I’ll probably die but at least I’ll (likely) get to see space and go out in a blaze of glory
You’ll sit in a capsule for all that time in interplanetary space or abandoned on the surface of some celestial body. Pray that there’s no life support mods installed. In any case, you’ll go mad
Tunic! So, cute but also deadly?
RDR2 for me as well. At least there’s options. I would probably play it safe by ditching the gang before I contract tuberculosis and just live as a hunter up in the mountains. The mechanics of the game would make that quite easy compared to IRL.
Alternatively, the epilogue does seem nice.
Darktide. Yeah I’m not taking the money.
Megaman battle network 3, im in heaven
Making food and stuff. Hoping the killer happened before me. The Game is “Kiosk”. Shot Horror Game - can recommend
Looks like I picked Power Wash Simulator back up at the right time
PUBG. Im gonna get murdered a lot, but at least death isnt final, given respawns exist. At least the pubg maps are quite large and interesting to explore.
Sounds like a Hell loop lol
Playing as myself, I wouldn’t survive 10 minutes in Megabonk.
Just HAD to play a Helldivers 2 match last night didn’t I… Well I mean zomboid with 1 out of 5 zombies being a runner probably ain’t gonna do me no favors either… I’m boned
Hol up while I download LSL5
I would be in Slime Rancher 2. I would be doing pretty alright! I can stay at my ranch and tend to my adorable slimes.
Factorio. It would be pretty nice but I’m not sure my human me is prepared to deal with the bugs… A tough decision.
The bugs will only come to you if you pollute the enviroment
True, I could just avoid them for a year and explore the map.
Runescape is so easy nowadays that this seems fine, I could avoid combat skills and become a fisherwoman, eat lobster all day.
Misericorde. I think I could spend a year in a late 15th C nunnery where they mostly like to drink wine and play chess.
Yes, those are famously the only duties and restrictions of life as a 15th century nun 😄
The plot focuses on the MC trying to solve a murder, which wouldn’t be my job. They do all get called out for being terrible women of God. It is implied that this nunnery might be where they send problem women.
Alright, that DOES sound a lot better than your standard nunnery! 😁
Apparently the second installment gets really gay, too
I’m playing star trucker right now so I’d be golden. Just one year of hauling cargo, customizing my rig and doing the occasional EVA to salvage expensive jetsam. Where do I sign?
Just one year in Stellaris?
Hmm… my empire, or someone else’s?
oh no yesterday i was testing something and opened minecraft with only the ‘nox: renoxed’ mod installed
this is gonna be fun, as long as i can respawn and am not a human in the game
Social Democracy: an alternate history, so depends on if I can change things or if I have to live through otl
Palia! I’d gladly live there for even longer!
i wouldn’t consider that to be too terrible.
Stuck in a medieval post-apocalyptic North America. Not good. (CK3 After the End mod)
DayZ. I’m dead, unless I can find enough bullets and a car to stand on top of.
Getting mauled by a farmbot IRL any% wr.
I know I shouldn’t say that loud… I’m bit rich in cute hentai game. Now all on Palapagos know I’m horny.
Well that depends, am I the “main character”, if so do I start at the beginning or where I left off?
I mean, either way in satisfactory I don’t require sleep or food or drink, unless I take damage and need to eat some nuts or berries. So just avoid the local wildlife until I get the hover pack.

I had a shotgun and axe, too…
Fire Emblem Awakening doesn’t seem too bad a place to take a vacation.
Say what you will about attraction mechanics and FOMO, but logging in to do Star Trek Online event daily missions keeps me sittin’ pretty in all these hypotheticals.
Noita. I’m so dead. At least it will be spectacular, unexpected or both…
Beyond All Reason: statistically i’ll spawn as a tick and live a short life of probing enemy defenses with single-file human wave tactics.
City of Heroes. I was playing a Gravity/Storm build last night, so I’ll be flying around, and throwing things and people all over the place.
There’s many different ways it could go, hopefully I don’t get deep space dementia or get attacked by giant alien spiders while I’m there
Madden NFL 2008?
Last one I played is Pikmin (1), back in 13 August. I’ll do fine (unless I am pikmin-sized)
Dwarf fortress lol. I think if I did not have a family I could go there for free for a year. Benefits: I can get some cool skills relatively fast and they seem to be having a jolly good time in the Inn.
[deleted]
Darkest Dungeon. Uhm. No thanks!
Planet coaster 2
So, pretty fun!
the monkey paw curls and you end up as a regular guest in a playthrough by someone who tortures all their guests using flamethrowers, fireworks, electric zapping, and crashing things into you.
ignoring pinball, i think mindustry would be fun even if i die a lot :3
ignoring pinball, i think mindustry would be fun even if i die a lot :3
Played through the Simpsons arcade with friends. So I guess could be better could be worse.
Hmm iracing so if the races I go into are clean I’m pretty happy with that trade, if I get stuck in lower splits with people intentionally wrecking others, im probably dead in a few days lol
